SLOW RUNNING

Slow running is a beneficial form of exercise for everyone. Running at low heart rate zones has many physical, health, and psychological benefits. It also improves basic endurance. The benefits? The immune and cardiovascular systems are strengthened, the body's ability to regenerate is increased, the risk of injury is reduced, fat metabolism is boosted, and stress levels are reduced. In addition to all these effects, there is still time to enjoy the wonderful views. And enough air to have a lively conversation.

Especially in the morning, this slow running frequency is an energizing mood booster.

Thanks to the wide valley floors and well-developed hiking and cycling trails, leisurely jogging is a real pleasure. Minimal elevation gain and impressive alpine views make running a moment of pure enjoyment close to nature.

Slow & Low

There are so many beautiful running routes in the Wilder Kaiser region. Combining running with cycling is also a wonderful idea. Check out the tips from the Sporthotel right here.

Slow running is the ideal complement to long, often strenuous hiking and mountain biking tours in the Kaiser Mountains. It is the best way to actively regenerate.

Speaking of relaxation: it can be wonderfully combined with a yoga session, a sports massage, or a visit to the wellness sauna. This helps you maintain a good balance.

Subsurface

Most of the valley circuits run along paved paths (gravel), forest trails, or asphalted side roads/cycle paths. Stress-free enjoyment is therefore guaranteed.

View

Choose routes that offer views of the Wilder Kaiser (e.g., the golf course loop or the Pramarunde).

Imperial jet

Use the Kaiserjet (regional bus) to travel to Going or Scheffau, for example, and start your run there without having to run the same routes from Ellmau.

Run & Bike

In addition to the Kaiserjet, you can of course combine your run with a bike ride. Travel to the running route to warm up. Take a leisurely bike ride back.

"Slow running is the turbo boost for endurance and at the same time the relaxation button for the mind – the ideal form of training for an enjoyable and active vacation in the Wilder Kaiser region!"
