Looking for a more relaxed experience? Here are a few sunny and well-maintained areas offering long, easy blue runs and gentler red slopes.
Sunny slopes on the Hartkaiser (Ellmau)
The slopes on the Hartkaiser in Ellmau are generally very wide, well-groomed, and mostly sunny. These runs are ideal for relaxed carving and wide, stress-free turns.
Tip: Lifts like the Almbahn (98) and the Köglbahn (97) lead to wonderfully wide slopes with breathtaking views of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range.
Scenic run to the Kleine Salve (Itter)
Prefer a more relaxed experience? Take a leisurely run from Ellmau towards Itter. The slopes and views from the Kleine Salve are considered beautiful and a bit quieter.
Sun-filled slopes on the Astberg (Going)
The slopes on the Astberg in Going are also very sunny. Relaxed, wide runs (mostly blue and red) for effortless carving.
"Kaiserblick" Descents
The unparalleled view of the steep rock faces of the Wilder Kaiser makes one thing clear: ski slowly and don't forget to stop for photos. The slopes from Hartkaiser towards Going are particularly appealing here.

A valley run in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser leads directly over the beginner slope behind the hotel – and thus directly past the hotel's own Ellmauer Alm. Simply ski down, stop in, enjoy, and then stroll back to the hotel at your leisure... or enjoy a drink or two at the Ellmauer Alm during après-ski.

Sometimes it's possible to take the first lift up early in the morning (e.g., from 7:00 a.m.). Experience pristine, perfectly groomed slopes (often called "groomers") bathed in the rising sun and enjoy an exclusive mountain breakfast in the lodge of your choice. A fantastic start to your ski day!
Blue-Red Safaris
Use the easy navigation system in the ski area to create your own "ski safari." Combine only blue and gentle red runs to ski from Ellmau to Brixen or Hopfgarten and back without much effort.
Snowcat Ride
Fancy a ride in a snowcat? At select times in the evening, you have the chance to ride along during slope preparation – an impressive experience. Interested? Just ask.

Opening Hours
The main lifts (Hochsöll 8-person gondola, Hexen 6-person chairlift, "Hans im Glück" 10-person gondola) and most slopes are open from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Option "Last Run Down to the Valley"
Illuminated runs down to the valley are usually possible until 10:30 p.m. (ideally, check to see if this is the case today).
Total duration
The illuminated ski room therefore lasts at least 3 hours (6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.).
