Whether ambitious or for pleasure
You want to rack up the miles?
If you love ski "touring", the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser is the perfect place for you.
The KitzSkiWelt Tour
The world's longest ski circuit connects the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental with the KitzSki ski area (Kitzbühel/Kirchberg/Pass Thurn, accessible via Westendorf).
You can start in any of the Kaiser villages, including Ellmau.
It's a full-day fitness program where you can cover hundreds of kilometers without skiing the same slope twice.
Note: This requires good planning and stamina. (KitzSki – Kitzbühel/Kirchberg/Pass Thurn – accessible via the Westendorf connection).
The SkiWelt Tour
The grand tour within the SkiWelt (e.g., the "Kaiserspuren" circuit) is ideal for exploring the entire ski area in one day. A fantastic day trip.

Powderfeeling? Not uncommon
The best runs
Powder. Freeriding. Whoops.
Hohe Salve (Söll/Hopfgarten)
Why here? At 1,829 m, it's the highest point.
The best runs: Some of the officially designated ski routes and freeride slopes along the runs to Söll and Brixen im Thale. The steeper slopes (e.g., the summit run north or the area around the Keat run) are perfect for fast freeride turns.
Tip: Since the Hohe Salve is the main attraction, you need to be there early after fresh snowfall – it's considered a local insider tip. It's a smaller area between Ellmau and Going.
Brandstadl (Scheffau)
Why here? It offers several ungroomed ski routes, guaranteeing powder skiing after fresh snowfall.
The best runs: The most famous route is the Moderer run (ski route 63). It's 5 km long and climbs 1,000 meters in altitude. It's a challenging route, requiring good physical condition, and is an absolute highlight for freeriders in the region, offering both open space and length.
Caution: This is a designated ski route in the backcountry and is not groomed.
SkiWelt Westendorf (Fleiding/Choralpe)
Why here? Although a bit further away, SkiWelt Westendorf is considered a hidden gem for freeriders. The slopes at Choralpe and Fleiding offer steeper, north-facing slopes where the powder snow often lasts longer.
Tip: If conditions are poor in the center of SkiWelt, a trip to Westendorf is worthwhile.
Schmiedalm (Ellmau/Going)
Why here? This smaller area between Ellmau and Going is considered a local insider tip.
